Ash Hill School courtyard garden

Improvements made to Ash Hill Garden

It seems like a long time ago now, (mainly because it is), that the school children enjoyed their long summer holiday before starting back at school at the beginning of September.

There was however, not quite such a long summer break at Ash Hill School, as contractors, funded by Marsh & Micklefield Big Local, arrived at the school to replace and repair sleepers and fencing in the school’s courtyard garden. The improvements look brilliant and mean the garden can safely used by staff and pupils not just for now but in years to come.

Previously Marsh & Micklefield Big Local were pleased to be able to fund Grow Together Bucks who have done amazing work with the children to grow vegetables in the courtyard garden and now the improvements have been completed there will be even more opportunity to use the space to its full potential. Grow Together manage the Community Allotment in Sierra Road and have done some brilliant work with both Ash Hill and Marsh Infants introducing children to gardening to grow food.

The photos show just how much work was completed and we hope you agree it looks great.

If you want to know more about the Grow Together allotment and the work they do, take a look at their website.
